LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM, September 1, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- The Financial Services Technology Panel of the Worshipful Company of Information Technologists (WCIT) has announced its annual keynote dinner, to be held on Monday, 26th October 2026, at the historic Institute of Directors (IoD) on Pall Mall, London.

Bringing together senior leaders from across financial services and technology, the black-tie event will feature a keynote address by Sir Charles Roxburgh, KCB, Chair of Lloyd’s, titled ‘Lloyd’s: Enduring Purpose, New Strategy’.

Sir Charles will explore how the Lloyd’s of London market is building on more than 337 years of innovation to position itself in a rapidly changing world. His address will consider Lloyd’s enduring role in enabling risk to be pooled and shared, the evolving global risk landscape. Also, the market’s new strategy to sharpen its financial edge, maximise its distinctive capital advantage, and reinforce its position as the world’s leading marketplace for insurance risk.

“Lloyd’s has endured for more than three centuries because it has continually adapted to new risks and realities,” said Dr Indranil Nath, Chair of the Financial Services Technology Panel at the WCIT. “Sir Charles is uniquely placed to explore what that means now, for Lloyd’s, the wider financial systems, and the technology community that increasingly underpins them. Our annual dinner brings senior leaders together for exactly this kind of forward-looking conversation.”

“WCIT’s purpose is not only to champion excellence in technology but also to ensure that technology creates wider public benefit,” said Gus Machado, WCIT, Master. “This dinner brings those ambitions together: serious discussion of issues that matter to the City, meaningful connections across our community, and support for programmes that help young people see a pathway into financial services technology.”

The dinner brings together high-level discussion and networking with a strong charitable purpose. Proceeds from the evening will support the WCIT Charity and its work to broaden access to technology education and career opportunities, including programmes that help young people, particularly those from underrepresented backgrounds, discover and pursue careers in Financial Services Technology through the ‘ITPathfinder’ (www.itpathfinder.org.uk) platform.

Renew Risk is the headline sponsor of the 2026 dinner.

About The Worshipful Company of Information Technologists

www.wcit.org.uk

The Worshipful Company of Information Technologists is the 100th livery company of the City of London, combining centuries-old tradition with a modern focus, energy and innovation. Like all livery companies, we look to give something back to the industry and community, and focus on four pillars of activity:

Charity: we raise money and provide IT skills to improve lives through a range of charitable vehicles

Education: we built Hammersmith Academy (with the Mercers) and support other schools, as well as making contributions to education across ages more widely

Industry and Commerce: we help to promote and shape the IT industry and run several schemes (including with the Royal Signals) to smooth the path of men and women into the industry.

Fellowship: We have a full programme of social activity. We are one of the few “new” livery companies to have its own hall, and in 2017 we celebrated our silver jubilee, 25 years after our grant of livery.
